  4. Tommo good job as expected. I noticed the movements in and out of the Sqn in the 60s was a busy time. I wonder why. I was in Tidworth from 63 - 66 prior to going to 54 I never saw that amount of Sappers being moved around. Is this because of the 54 band taking people away from their regular jobs:) lol. When I was due to leave the REs I was in Hohne contenplating whether to sign on for 22. I was full screw then and one day I was talking to an officer and this horse box turned up and this white stallion wad unloaded and this officer who I was to talking to ( no name mentioned to prevent any embaressment ) turned to me and said that the horse belonged to the CO of 32 Armd Regt. Well bugger me if the new CO came out of his office and got on it. Low and behold it was Lt Col Driscoll ex 54 OC. That was it, never extended my career and left shortly afterwards, that bloke was a menace. I heard that he was eventually commited.

  5. Tommo,Philip"Billy"Budd here,I was with 54 at Sham Shui Po "H.K."from late Sept'71 to late Mar'74.I think a good time was had by all who served with 54 during this period, more like a family, officers included, everyone seemed to look out for each other.I know those residing at Mai Foo had some great parties.
My email is, philip.budd2648@btinternet.com,I'm only a short trip down the 62 from you.
